I use a fairly new program. Today's gas prices, I set the software to use the track "shortest". After reading chaining, I wonder if the definition of "shortest route" to avoid traffic jams for a plan to escape this jam stand shorter than detours .. There are some clever solution to this issue? Jack

golan_shahar wrote the shortest route is not necessarily the most economical fuel and often it is not. Golan, assuming no traffic jam and it is a flat area, when the shortest route will consume more fuel fastest route? And the associated question: Is all I get information cantare on a cork or accident later my travel route even when the software is set to the shortest lane "? Or in that case, the software did not even say anything and let me get stuck in traffic .. Jack
Jack, I will answer in place of or in addition to the Golan: If a shorter route has more traffic lights and stops, you will have more algae are major fuel consumer. Unlike fast track and longer it will be on the highway and stay at uniform cantare speed. Pine

This is Jack, I'm not saying shortest route is not necessarily economical fuel compared to the fast track. But if the shortest route is not the fastest, so there is a reason and it is associated with, usually, constipation and irregular travel in terms of speed, they are among the significant factors increased fuel consumption. cantare My experience, the fast track is almost always wrong in terms of length as well. Fksoshim rare there, But it seems to me that without the "advise and Vision of a much larger chance of getting stuck.
